From rescuing elephants to rehabilitating big cats — our commitment to animal welfare is boundless and unconditional.
Vantara, meaning "Star of the Forest," is a world-class, 3000-acre wildlife rescue and rehabilitation center located in Jamnagar, Gujarat. Conceived and led by Anant Ambani, Vantara operates on a simple yet powerful principle: every animal deserves a life of dignity.
Unlike traditional zoos, Vantara is not a place of captivity — it is a sanctuary. Animals rescued from circuses, illegal trade, abusive conditions, and natural disasters are brought here to heal, rehabilitate, and live freely. The facility features state-of-the-art veterinary hospitals, natural habitats, and dedicated caretaker teams.

Stray and abandoned cattle, horses, and donkeys from across Gujarat and Rajasthan are provided shelter, feed, and veterinary support.
Beyond the sanctuary walls, the Foundation runs one of India's largest cattle welfare programs. Across Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh, thousands of stray cattle are fed, vaccinated, and provided emergency medical care every single day.
This initiative honors the deep cultural reverence for cattle in Indian tradition while addressing the practical problem of urban stray animals — reducing road accidents, improving animal health, and supporting rural farming communities.
Every rescue follows a structured, compassionate process to ensure the best outcome for each animal.
Our ground teams, partnering with forest departments and law enforcement, identify animals in distress — from circuses, illegal trade, road accidents, and natural disasters.
Every rescued animal receives a comprehensive medical evaluation at Vantara's veterinary hospital, including X-rays, blood work, and specialist consultations.
Animals are placed in tailored rehabilitation programs — from physical therapy for elephants with foot injuries to socialization programs for orphaned cubs.
For animals that cannot be released back into the wild, Vantara provides a permanent home with natural habitats, enrichment activities, and dedicated caretakers.
Every contribution — whether time, resources, or awareness — helps us rescue another animal and provide them with a life of dignity.
